Florida Sled Hockey

Florida Sled Hockey The Florida Sled Hockey Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing recreational opportunities for adults and children with disabilities

What is sled hockey? It's a accessible version of ice hockey, designed for individuals with lower-body disabilities like paralysis, amputation, and spinal cord injuries. Instead of skating upright, we use a modified sled. We use two shortened hockey sticks to both shoot the puck and to propel ourselves across the ice. Our teams consist of adults and children, male and female, and no prior hockey e

xperience is required. The Florida Sled Hockey Association has representatives on Team USA for both men and women. Sled hockey is a Paralympic sport, meaning some of our athletes have won gold medals representing the United States!
