Please be advised that Friday, June 19 (Juneteenth) is recognized as a federal holiday. All VA outpatient clinics and administrative offices will be closed.
Veterans who require urgent care or tele-emergency care can call the VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center at 1-877-741-3400 for 24/7/365 support or visit an in-network urgent care facility. To find an urgent care facility near you, please visit: www.va.gov/find-locations/.

You are all invited to take part in honoring James D. Rader our chapter namesake this Memorial Day at 12 Noon located at Ft.Myers Memorial Garden. A somber eulogy, prayers, and the three-volley salute brings us to the sounding of taps on this most solemn day.

Memorial Gardens hosts their annual Memoriall Day Field of Honor at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens (1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers) and typically includes the following schedule of events:8:00 a.m. (Saturday, May 24, 2026): Community members are welcome to help place flags on the graves of veterans.9:30 a.m. (Monday, May 25, 2026): The official annual Memorial Day Service commences. What to expect at the 9:30 a.m. ceremony:Military Aircraft Flyover: Conducted by local aviation units.Live Performances: Music provided by groups such as the Guns N Hoses Pipes and Drum Corps of SW FL.Keynote Addresses: Speeches delivered by members of the Collier-Lee Honor Flight.Cookout: A community barbecue often follows the service. Please see Memorial Gardens or local paper for actual event agenda.
