Glue traps, rat poison, fishing line= tragedy for our native and endangered/non endangered wildlife. Responsible stewardship is everyone’s responsibility.

Protect, preserve and think forward so future generations can see and experience the beauty.

A burrowing owl stuck in a glue trap was rescued, rehabilitated, and released back into the wild by the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) on Sanibel Island. STORY LINK IN COMMENTS ⬇️

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and longtime Rotary Park volunteer, Debbie.

Debbie was an irreplaceable part of the Rotary Park family. She dedicated countless hours to growing and caring for the butterfly plants that make our gardens so vibrant and beautiful. If you've ever admired the butterflies at Rotary Park, you've seen the lasting impact of her hard work, passion, and dedication.

Debbie was also one of our most beloved butterfly educators. She loved learning and had an incredible gift for sharing her knowledge, inspiring visitors of all ages with her kindness, and genuine love for butterflies and her "baby", Captain Redfoot. Her joyful spirit, warm smile, and positive attitude touched everyone she met.

Debbie leaves behind a legacy that will continue to bloom throughout Rotary Park for years to come. Every butterfly that visits our gardens and every person who learns about these amazing creatures is a testament to the love and care she poured into this park.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Debbie's family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, but she will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Debbie, for your friendship, your generosity, and for making Rotary Park a more beautiful place. Your legacy will live on in every butterfly that calls our gardens home. 🦋💜
