Shining example of why Scouting matters!!

Congratulations to Cadence Castellano on being named a recipient of the prestigious J.A. Campbell full-ride scholarship at Campbell University.

A standout student leader, varsity athlete, and an East Carolina Council Eagle Scout, Cadence continues to exemplify the very best of Scouting America. Her leadership in the National Youth Leadership Training program, where she now serves as youth course lead, reflects a deep commitment to developing others and living out the values of service and leadership.

From the trail to the classroom, Cadence is putting those lessons into practice, and this recognition is well deserved.

We are excited to see the impact she will make in this next chapter.

Troop 247 out there serving at the Tunnels to Towers 5K run in Swansboro, NC on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025. The girls had a great time serving in the hospitality tent and welcoming runners by presenting them with their finishers medals. Thanks to Mary Pat for all her hard work coordinating this race and letting the Scouts serve our First Responders and Military Families!

Congratulations to Cadence Castellano on the completion of her Eagle Scout project for Gramercy Christian School. She planned, coordinated, and executed the building of two octagon picnic tables with the help of her mentor and team. Excellent work!
