WT Community Resilience Corps We serve communities in the Texas Panhandle through partnerships across the region.

We recruit individuals from various backgrounds to become WT Community Resilience Corps members and serve at partner sites, improving the places they call home. We strive to facilitate and connect community members to opportunities for learning, civic engagement, and collaboration; which leads to resilience and vitality across the region. Together, we're building a more resilient network of community organizations, educational institutions, local governments, and other groups working to meet community needs. Our mission is to augment existing systems, fill gaps, and help build a more supportive and resilient environment through opportunity, engagement, and investment where all people thrive in sustainable careers and communities.

💬 “Oh, you speak Spanish, too!” - and just like that, a connection is made. 💙

When StoryBridge partnered with CRC AmeriCorps, they gained so much more than an extra set of hands; they gained a bridge to families and students who had previously faced language barriers in accessing their programming.

Through the work of CRC AmeriCorps member Jennifer, StoryBridge has been able to offer programming in Spanish for the first time, from reading stories and singing songs at Kinderbridge to helping bilingual students find the perfect book on the book trailer. đź“š

This is the power of culturally and linguistically responsive service, meeting people where they are and making sure everyone feels seen, heard, and welcomed. 🌟

📚 “I didn’t know people were needing it until we provided it — and then it was very clear.” 💙

KinderBridge has developed a space where parents find connection, community, and a place to share both the hard moments and the proud ones of raising little ones.

One of our former CRC AmeriCorps Members, Jennifer, shares that she came to KinderBridge as a parent with her daughters and left with so much more than books. That’s the kind of impact that can’t be planned; it just happens when you create a space where people truly belong.

Serving in Remembrance. Strengthening Our Community.

This month, CRC AmeriCorps Volunteers gathered at the High Plains Food Bank’s Southside Garden for a day of service and reflection in remembrance of 9/11.
Working alongside one another, CRC Fellows helped with removing weeds and support local food security efforts as part of Hunger Action Month. 🥕🌿

The day also gave our cohort an opportunity to connect, participate in civic reflection, and learn more about the important work happening in our community.

We’re grateful to our CRC Fellows for showing up, serving with purpose, and putting the spirit of service, unity, and community resilience into action. 💙

💙 Our CRC AmeriCorps Volunteer, Cathy Williams serving at the Warford Activity Center, uses every lunch service as an opportunity to welcome, connect, and engage with community members of all backgrounds. From greeting guests and ensuring a comfortable dining experience to giving facility tours and sharing membership information, every interaction is a chance to build community. 🤝

It’s a great reminder that sometimes the most impactful service happens in the smallest, most intentional moments; a warm greeting, a friendly conversation, or simply making sure someone feels at home.
