For the United Way Day of Caring (June 5), our CRC AmeriCorps Volunteers showed up ready to work, and work they did! 💪

Our members headed out to Wildcat Bluff Nature Center, one of our partner organizations, to tackle a project that’s been a long time coming. Armed with shovels and determination, they spent the day removing rocks and digging to help restore a much-needed pond on the property.

It’s the kind of hands-in-the-dirt, boots-on-the-ground service that makes a real difference, and we couldn’t be more proud of our volunteers for giving their time and energy to help care for this beautiful natural space in our community.

CRC AmeriCorps Volunteer Brian has spent his service term building something meaningful, a Resource Guide for older adults across the Amarillo and Canyon area, and a community of senior center leaders who are now connected because of him.

Last week, those leaders gathered for the very first time. Brian made that happen.

His guide will live on the Aging In Place homepage, a lasting contribution to the seniors and organizations he’s had the privilege of serving. 💙

🌱 Our CRC AmeriCorps Volunteers are getting their hands dirty for good! Yesterday morning, a few members headed out to Square Mile in Amarillo to help with the community garden. They showed up, dug in, and are making a difference, one square mile at a time. 💚

This week, CRC AmeriCorps members came together for our “Life After AmeriCorps” meeting to reflect on their growth, explore next steps, and prepare for what comes after service.

From resume building and professional development to sharing lessons learned throughout the year, members are turning their service experiences into tools for future careers and community impact.

At Warford Activity Center, service is about more than programs, it’s about connection.

In this week’s CRC Conversations, CRC AmeriCorps member Cathy Williams and Senior Services Coordinator Kari Bachman share how Warford serves older adults and community members of all ages through wellness, recreation, and support.

From greeting guests at lunch to helping members feel welcomed and connected, Cathy’s service shows how small acts of kindness can make a lasting impact.

On March 28, our AmeriCorps members came together to organize and package over $20,000 worth of clothing for foster families in our area.

Every item sorted is a reminder that small acts of service can make a big difference.

We are proud of the heart our members bring to this work 💙
