The XIT Team Roping tomorrow has been CANCELED!
We were blessed with so much rain and it’s raining again. The wettest part of our arena is down by the roping boxes.
Please help us spread the word.

This page has been discontinued because we've been adopted by another non-profit. We are now under the VFW Post 430, PO Box 417, Canyon, Tx 79015. All donation to help pay for postage can be sent at the above address % Verlene Dickson. Yes, we are still sending Care Boxes to our overseas. We've sent over 8000 boxes since 2002. Our mission continues to make our troops know we still appreciate them and send them a box of LOVE from home to improve their morale. Thank you for any help!

Yes, we area alive and well and now under the VFW Post 430 out of Canyon, Tx. We've found a permanent home. Look at our album and see what we've been up to. Thanks for any support. Donations of items can be taken to the Veterans Resource Center at 10th and Taylor in Amarillo. OR monetary donations can be mailed to VFW, %Verlene Dickson, P O Box 417, Canyon, Tx 79015. Be sure to put Care Boxes or postage in the memo section.

We will be at the Junk Hippy Roadshow May 2, at the Civic Center in Amarillo, 9-6..................come see us and see what deals we can make

Care Boxes is now under the VFW Post 430 out of Canyon, Tx. They are actually about the same distance from our house and they have "work days" where some come to work on improvements on the building and some come to pack Care Boxes. All money that was donated to us under America Supports You Texas has been transferred to the VFW Care Boxes account and will be used for the postage for the Care Boxes. We also use the Care Box money to buy supplies that we need either to pack the boxes or items to put in the boxes and IF we have enough postage after the CHRISTMAS boxes are mailed we try to adopt a young couple with kids that may need help with their Christmas.

We've also supplied Operation Homefront with 25 backpacks for our military families' kids AND 43 backpacks to homeless teenagers that needed them to start school. This was a one-day fundraiser that just broke even, but think of the pride these kids had when they could start school with a new backpack along with the other kids.

On a separate fundraising event we helped a young couple with three kids with their rooms and meals to get from Amarillo to S. Carolina for treatment for TBI and PTSD. This wasn't through Care Boxes but we ramrodded the event.

Through the Veterans Resource Center we've been able to take 10 veterans off the streets and into HUD housing and helped find jobs for 11 veterans. Two of those vets have passed the CDL and are now working!

YOU ARE making a difference and we appreciate all your efforts and donations.

Donations can be made for the Care Boxes to help pay for the 500 CASES of Girl Scout Cookies that have been donated to us to send to our overseas troops. The cookies that we don't have postage for will go to the VA Hospital, VA Nursing Home, Another Chance House, Patsy's Home, all of the nursing homes (they ALL have veterans in them). We will probably save 1/2 of the cookies to send later this summer.

Your donations need to be made out to VFW Post 430 with postage fund in the memo part and mailed to VFW Post 430
% Verlene Dickson, P.O. Box 417, Canyon, Tx 79015. I am still very involved in the Care Boxes and now the Veterans Resource Center, helping our veterans in anyway they need. Verlene is now the coordinator of the Care Boxes through the VFW and she has the backing of the entire VFW and the veterans of the Veterans Resource Center to help her. Let's keep this going. We've still got troops over there needing our support as much now as ever. One of our guys was killed today and 11 were injured. YES, we are still mailing boxes to Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, 5 USOs and 2 ships.

The Girl Scouts is still having the Troop-to-Troop Project this year. That's where YOU buy cookies and give them either to me personally or give them back to the Girl Scout and Care Boxes mails the cookies to our overseas cookies. This is a win-win-win for everyone. YOU get to support your local Girl Scout while also supporting our troops overseas. AND Care Boxes get to send our troops a Great American Tradition! They also get to share the cookies with the coalition of our allies, so it makes the other countries share some cookies............small gesture, big results! LOL Cookies always are welcome. Thank you from the Girl Scouts, the troops and from Care Boxes! If you don't know a Girl Scout just call Marsha at the main office at 356-0096 and tell you want to participate in the Troop-to-Troop project. OR you can donate money to help with the postage for the mailing of the cookies! Just PM me for details.

Have fun, be careful and protect your cats! Also remember we accept Halloween candy to send to our troops in their Chrstmas Care Boxes. We'll be mailing about Nov.18-20. BEFORE THANKSGIVING FOR SURE!

I've had a anonymous donor that said he would MATCH dollar for dollar up to $1,000 for each donation to Care Boxes for our Troops - America Supports You Texas. YEAH!!!!! So for each $1.00 YOU donate, he will donate $1.00. You donate $25.00 and he will donate $25.00! He is one of my recipients of Care Boxes when he was deployed and wants to give back! What a blessing...............so it's up to you to either ignore or donate several dollars and have him match your donation. There's several ways to donate. I've got a gofundme.com fund that I will include in another post or you can go to www.americasupportsyoutexas.org and click on GET INVOLVED tab and donate directly to the Care Boxes postage fund. This is probably the last donation drive I'll have unless we start getting more names that have been deployed. We've got troops coming home everyday, but we also have several that have just been deployed. Thank you in advance for your support!

I'll be at Dimmitt for their Harvest Days Celebration Sept 7th (9-til close) for a fundraiser. I'll be sharing a table with Libby Cleveland. I'll be doing a fundraiser for the Care Boxes For The Troops Christmas boxes. I have 23 names right now to mail to and will probably get about 10 more before we mail boxes right before Thanksgiving! YES!!! I have another interview on the radio TOMORROW December 28th AT 12:30 ON 1360 AM KDJW with Chris Albracht. The interview will be about the HUGE beef jerky drive and America Supports You Texas and the Care Boxes For The Troops. We will be volunteering with the local military people, United Supermarkets, and Frito Lay for a HUGE beef jerky drive to get donations of Matador Beef Jerky to send to our troops in their Care Boxes! I'm so excited! The beef jerky will be on sale and you can get coupons! We also need volunteers to help us meet and greet people as they come in the door to tell them about the project to help our troops! We had a ball last year and we got over 3500 packs of beef jerky to send overseas. What a great way to start out the new year! THE DONATION DRIVE WILL BE JANUARY 5TH in the Amarillo and Canyon United Supermarkets. Other towns will be having the donation drive other days......see the schedule and volunteer are needed at ANY of the stores. Please email asytexas@gmail to request the store near you. IF there is interest in that store you will be put on the list to help there. My Care Boxes team will be at the Canyon United on Saturday Jan. 5th.
