TEXAS FFA STATE CONVENTION CONTEST RESULTS DAY 1
For the first time ever, the Canyon FFA Entered the Texas FFA Teach Ag Contest and finished 4th in the state!
This contests featured two exams. One over general education theory and agriculture education concepts. One over agriculture mathematics applications (think balancing feed rations or calculating fertilizer applications or amortization schedules on farm loans).
Then students must evaluate a lesson plan for strengths and weaknesses and answer 10 questions about the lesson plan.
Next, students must identify 50 items from 5 different pathways in agriculture education (animal science, plant science, ag mechanics, natural resource management, and food science).
Finally, using the same lesson plan they analyzed before, they are given 5 minutes to give a set of oral reasons about the pros, cons, and improvements to the lesson plan!
Very proud of the work these four did in our first attempt!
