We want to highlight and give a big thank you to Wendy Standorf for bringing her community together to serve at CRRC! πŸ’™

Wendy gathered members of her church, her Bible study group, neighbors, and friends, some of whom had never met before, to volunteer together at CRRC for a common cause. Thanks to their hard work and generous spirit, they packed 500 Summer Snax bags for local children!

These bags will help support families participating in our Summer Snax program, which provides every child in the household with a bag of easy-to-prepare, kid-friendly snacks or meals during the summer months. When school is out, many children lose access to school meals, and programs like Summer Snax help fill that gap. We are so grateful to Wendy and everyone who answered her call to serve. 🧑Thank you for making a difference in the lives of your neighbors!

Thank you to the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung and reporter Erica Wilson for helping spread the word about the growing need for services for older adults in Canyon Lake and CRRC's efforts to meet that need.
As highlighted in the article, CRRC is expanding its facility to better serve our community through the addition of a second-floor kitchen, classroom space, and offices. This expansion will allow us to offer more programs, educational opportunities, and support services as the senior population in our area continues to grow.
We're now in the final stretch of fundraising for the upstairs buildout. Thanks to a generous matching grant from the McKenna Foundation, every dollar donated will be doubled. We need just $50,000 more to reach our $150,000 fundraising goal, which will unlock a total of $300,000 for construction completion and furnishings.
Together, we can create a space that helps Canyon Lake seniors stay connected, engaged, and supported for years to come.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this project! Follow the link if you would like donate to get us past the finish line! https://givebutter.com/FinishTheRaceCRRC

As more Canyon Lake seniors seek support for basic needs, social connection and navigating benefits, the CRRC is working to expand its facility with new classroom, kitchen and office space. The McKenna Center is matching donations up to $150,000 for the final funding push, with $50,000 left to raise before the project is fully funded.
