Good evening, after 4 long years as the Sandy Beaver District Roundtable Commissioner, it's time for me to hang up one of my scouting "hats". Mr. Bob Myers will continue the monthly Virtual Zoom meetings typically held each month from August to May on the 3rd Wednesday night at 7pm, including tonight, with Zero attendance.
He will continue to provide units with information that they can take back to their meetings which include safety moments, up and coming activities and events, scouting america mb and rank updates, available training sessions in Buckeye Council and beyond our borders, and offering a platform where our volunteers can present or share their passion for scouting.
It's been difficult throughout the last 4 years to reach a majority of our volunteers with the outdated email list that's provided to us, but we 'Do Our Best' to succeed with the notifications through social media and The Buckeye Blaze.
We've had our attendance ups and downs, especially with our loss of Camp McKinley, moving to the Lisbon Lions Club, then onto zoom to make it more convenient for volunteers to join us. But hopefully in the near future the attendance will begin to rise again and the word will get out about the service we offer to our district.
2025 has been a difficult year for me especially after spending weeks at a time at Salem Community Hospital and multiple weeks thereafter in recovery, missing multiple paychecks which has put a significant burden on my family.
As I continue to move forward in our Scouting community, serving as a Unit Commissioner for a new unit, on the Eagle Board of Review Committee, and Secretary of the Marksmanship and Safety Committee, and membership trustee at my local Beaver Creek Sportsmans Club in 2026, I hope that our Roundtable legacy plus Mr. Bob's passion for Scouting can continue to provide encouragement to our current and new leaders in the near future.
Thank you for 4 great years worth of memories at Roundtable. Neil Hammers
