Stewards out today working on the new yellow switchbacks. Widening, leveling and making the path easier to hike or run. We also helped a frog down to the creek and cleared a tree from the trail.

Musclewood (Carpinus caroliniana), also known as water beech or ironwood, is recognized for its extremely hard, tough, and durable wood, making it suitable for high-stress applications. Historically, its wood was used for tool handles, wedges, and levers, while its water-resistant properties allowed it to be utilized for durable bowls.

Stewards today closed off the old yellow purple route due to the sale of the private property.

The new route will be a yellow route (no more purple) that starts and loops back to the main white trail.

Part of the new route includes a nice long switchback that overlooks the yellow Trail section known as Frodos Valley.

Temporary handrails have been installed until our fabricated ones arrive!

The new bridge is in place! The ramps were added today and the Stewards spent time grading and planting grass and clover around the site.

The Frank Stone bridge has been taken down. It was built by a MacGyver of a man 25 years ago, but had become structurally unsound and needed to come down for the safety of the public. A memorial plaque will be placed near the footing of the old bridge.
