This Saturday, June 27 from 8am to 12pm, is the summer work day at the scout hut. We have several projects that we would like to get done. We need volunteers to help replace screws on the roof of the hut, help installing a post and hardware for the new hammock stand nest, spreading mulch, spraying w**d killer, blowing leaves, and helping put items into a pile for easier removal at a later date. This is also a time for Scouts to earn service hours! So bring your gloves, rakes, and any power tools so we can tackle these projects! There will be coffee and donuts provided!!! We look forward to seeing you there this Saturday.

Thanks,
Duane Ferree
Troop 465 Committee Chairman

Once a quarter, we need volunteers to help process aluminum cans we collect at the Scout hut for recycling. This aluminum can recycling is a longtime Troop fundraiser, and an opportunity for Scouts to earn money to help pay for their Scouting activities.
Wear work clothes. Bring a pair of gloves and a large plastic bin; if you have one; to assist in sorting the cans.
A portion of the proceeds from every recycling center trip will be divided among the Scout accounts of the youth that worked that trailer load.

You'll squeeze through tight passageways, feel the pop of the mud against your rubber sole on Bubblegum Alley, and traverse high-ladder climbs to places you've never seen before. But this nighttime adventure doesn't stop there, you feel the cool earth beneath your back as you drift off and dream of the day's high climbs and grand formations.

I wanted to share a few quick reminders about our camping trip for this weekend.

Dropoff Friday at 5pm at the scout hut in field uniform (class A) having eaten dinner or with dinner in hand

Pickup Sunday around 1pm at the scout hut (285 is closed this weekend so we may be later than planned depending on traffic - we will attempt to keep parents informed of delays)

All scouts should have their mess kit, water bottle, day pack (with 10 essentials), sleeping bag, tent (unless sharing with another scout), and Scout handbook (lots of chances for advancement completions). It will be hot so I'd recommend a shirt to hike in Saturday and an additional one to change into upon return to camp.

Feel free to reach out with any questions.
