Canine Wounded Heroes

Canine Wounded Heroes A nonprofit charity organization with a mission of keeping all police and military canines safe, while on the job or after retirement.

Already the founder of several animal rescues, Jodie Richers’ original purpose with Canine Wounded Heroes was to rescue and rehabilitate old military and police dogs needing medical care and retirement homes. While doing that, Jodie discovered that placing those dogs with veterans suffering with PTSD often provided just what each other needed to cope with life after service. Then she recognized th

e need to keep working dogs safe from harm with bullet and stab resistant vests, and that has become a huge part of Canine Wounded Heroes mission. They are custom-made to measure for each canine. Canine Wounded Heroes has raised funds for protective vests for K-9s in 18 states, plus Canada and England, and appreciates donations at www.caninewoundedheroes.org.
