Community Friendship Volunteer Program of the North Country

Community Friendship Volunteer Program of the North Country Community Friendship Volunteer Program (CFVP) strives to improve the quality of life for older adults by building more age friendly communities.

The Community Friendship Volunteer Program (CFVP) is a completely volunteer program started as a result of a need for services to improve the lives of older individuals who did not meet the age or income criteria for other program. Unfortunately, it is common for older individuals to lose touch with their community as they age, whether they lose their ability to drive or have other reasons for not

being able to get out into the world. CFVP is here to prevent this from happening. We have volunteers that transport older individuals to and from medical appointments or social activities, provide respite for caregivers, offer friendship for individuals looking for someone to talk to or someone to do a social activity with, and so much more. CFVP will not only improve the life of someone receiving the services, it can improve the life of someone giving the service as a volunteer. In this program you can get back so much more than you give. If you have time and would like to have a positive impact someone's life, this is the right program for you! CFVP is operated by Community Health Center of the North Country, and is focused on building more age friendly communities by encouraging equity in aging.

The best way to stop fraud from happening is to stop it in the first place. Learning how to prevent Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse and then sharing what you learn is the best place to start.

Nearly a quarter of older adults experience social isolation, and loneliness can affect both mental and physical health. In rural communities, small things matter: transportation, places to gather, a friendly call, a class, or a check-in from someone who cares.
