Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America was established in New York City in1905. Canton Lodge, Ben V. Marconi #505, was established in April 1916.

There are over 400 lodges in 22 states, with over 27,000 members, in the United States today.

More photos from the Bocce Tournament last Saturday. First place went to Team Franta, second place went to the Hood Rats, and third place was our own Judy Horn's team Deboccery. Yes, that was Judy Horn (yesterday's photo), on fire throwing great shots with her lucky cigar, which she never smoked.

On a sunny Saturday at the Hide-A-Way Grill in Canton, our Lodge held its First Annual Bocce Tournament Fundraiser. It was a double elimination event with 8 teams and a crowd of 30 additional onlookers who were treated to good sport and camaraderie, and a great catered lunch! Did you miss it? Stay tuned tomorrow to find out who won.

Our Bocce Tournament is this Saturday, September 27, at the Hide-A-Way Bar & Grille, 4021 Mahoning Road NE, Canton, 44705. For those not playing but would like to come for buffet lunch and a Tournament T-Shirt, the cost is ONLY $20. Lunch will be served around 12:30pm.

What an evening it was at Mama Guzzardi's in North Canton! Our second year back since COVID and Mark and Sharon Inzetta really put on the Christmas Cheer for us. Just a few photos here, with special attention to some of our Officers (l-r): Back row: Anthony Dawson (Guard), Vern Sproat (Immediate Past President), Holly Ann Sproat (President), and Sophie Filigno (Recording Secretary). Front row: Marion Mazzarella (Past Everything), Judy Horn, Gillise Mammone (Vice-President and Financial Secretary), and Almira Prysock.

Our first meeting of 2025 is Sunday, January 12, 2025. We will meet at Mama Guzzardi's from 2pm-4pm. Please attend as we will begin considering candidates for 2025 elections of officers.

So we held our fall "picnic" last Sunday, indoors, because Mother Nature did not cooperate (as seen below). The weather and the food were pleasant inside, and we show you a few pictures of our members after lunch was served. A good time was had by all! Why not join us and share in the good times!
