I’m sorry to share this sad news. It has just been announced that Dolly Parton has passed away.

Her death came after in May 2026 she announced she was canceling a Las Vegas show and said she’d been undergoing treatment for kidney stones for several years.

*Important update from Canton Parks and Rec: The Summer Concert Series has been cancelled tonight due to the potential threat of thunderstorms. Thank you and look forward to seeing everyone next week.

Did you know that there are live concerts on Wednesday evenings during the summer right here in Canton? They are free, and there are even free hotdogs and hamburgers and snacks! So grab a chair and get down to Canton high school. Music starts at 6:30 PM.

Head on over to the Canton Farmers Market today! In addition to all of the wonderful products they have for sale, singer songwriter Terry Kitchen will be performing!  The market is located at Canton high school, 960 Washington St., Canton and is open from 10 AM to 2 PM.

We love the Canton Farmers Market and all of the fresh produce, prepared foods, and local crafts, but we HAVE to tell you that the talented and fun Moonbellies will be playing live music!! The market is open from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It’s located in front of Canton High School and the Marilyn Rodman Building at 960 Washington Street. Free parking just behind the high school. See you there!!!

The Open Book Coffeehouse closed out its 2025-2026 season with the stellar talent of singer songwriter George Clements. We also celebrated the dedicated team of volunteers who all keep our concerts well supplied with refreshments, staff our ticket sales desk, and make sure that every little detail in set up and clean up is attended to. Kudos as well to Canton Cable tv videographer David Wells who interviews our performers, and carefully records our concerts and edits them for subsequent broadcast. Finally, a huge thank you to all of the attendees who take the time to come out and listen to live music!
