An arts organization who focuses on building community, encouraging involvement, promoting social equity, supporting cultural needs, and celebrating diversity by -

-Connecting people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities to the art world by removing barriers to engagement (e.g. disability and financial limitations).

-Welcoming and encouraging a diverse audience.

-Providing a platform for distribution of, and dialogue about, art in all forms.

-Funding and promoting programs, events, and community spaces that support visual, musical, performing, literary, and culinary arts in the county.

-Engaging, supporting, and expanding the existing artistic community in Fulton County by nurturing and fostering creativity, supporting local artists, and showcasing their talents.

Your voice belongs in the story of Illinois! In honor of the country's 250th anniversary, Illinois Humanities is partnering with the Illinois America 250 Commission and StoryCorps Studios to present Illinois Voices 250, a statewide time capsule of conversations with people in all 102 Illinois counties.

As part of Illinois Voices 250, we've been asked to invite residents across Fulton County to record conversations about their lives, communities, memories, and hopes for the future. Be part of history and help create a statewide time capsule for the nation's 250th anniversary.

Conversations will be preserved in a special collection at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress for future generations to listen to and enjoy. There are two ways to get involved:

1.) You can record your conversation today at archive.storycorps.org/collection-page/illinois-humanities/ (Sign up required)

-or-

2.) Let us record you! We will organize different sessions throughout the county, helping everyone add their voice to the statewide time capsule, preserving your story for future generations to hear. (Dates coming soon)
