Cherokee County Master Gardeners To stimulate the love for and increase the knowledge of gardening and to voluntarily and enthusiastically share this knowledge with others.

The Georgia Master Gardener Extension Volunteer Program is a
volunteer training program offered through county offices of the
University of Georgia Cooperative Extension. Through this
program, individuals are trained and certified in home horticulture,
gardening, and related areas. These individuals, in turn, volunteer their expertise and services,
under the direction of their County Extension Agent, to help others
through horticultural projects that benefit the community. Georgia
Master Gardener Extension Volunteers bring the latest horticultural
information and practices from the world of research to their
communitiesā€™ landscapes and gardens; making life better for Georgians.

Japanese stiltgrass (Microstegium vimineum), also called Nepalese browntop or Asian stilt grass, is a shade-tolerant summer annual invasive grass that is widespread in Georgia and ranked the stateā€™s second-worst nonnative invasive plant in forest lands.
