Sunflower Discount Tree Program returns for Summer 2026!
Based on a successful discount tree launch last year, as well continual interest shown this year, our Sunflower Discount Tree Program is returning for 2026! Here are the details:
We purchased 21 trees of the following varieties: Debra Maple, Crimson Maple, Autumn Blaze Maple, Sunset Maple, Ivory Silk, and Greenspire Linden. These trees are identified by the township as hardy trees that do well in our soils.
We will offer these at a reduced price of $463.50 each. The price includes delivery, planting, taxes and staking. This is a significant savings over the normal price. As an added bonus, if a resident plants their purchased tree in the easement (defined as between the street and sidewalk) we offer a conditional $100 rebate after planting.
Here are the conditions for the rebate: Only one rebate per home. The easement must not currently have a tree. If the home is a corner lot, any side easement without a tree is eligible. We are limiting the rebate to 21 homes. Please allow a month after planting for the rebate.
If you are interested, please do the following:
Make a payment to SVHA in the form of check or cash. Indicate if you plan to plant on an easement or in your yard. They will plant your tree wherever they can reach.
Go to Lucas Nursery and schedule delivery and planting. They will show you the tree you're getting and give you watering instructions.
As we already bought the trees, you will need to show identification to Lucas Nursery to claim your tree. After your payment to SVHA, we will inform them of your pending arrival to claim and schedule planting.
