“Lift up your Hearts!” At every Holy Mass the faithful are charged with this command and respond, “We lift them up to the Lord.” Lent is a time to lift up the heaviness of our hearts to Jesus. We can do this by becoming more intentional about our participation at Holy Mass and/or attending Mass with greater frequency. Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque wrote about the promises that come with devotion to the Sacred Heart, especially when one attends Holy Mass and receives Holy Communion for nine consecutive First Fridays in honor of the Sacred Heart. At the very least, we could be more mindful about what is in our hearts that we lift up to Jesus at Holy Mass. ⁣

As we continue this Divine Mercy Sunday, the Church reminds us of a truth we can hold onto:

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good
His love is everlasting

Today, we are not just remembering His mercy
we are receiving it

In Confession, He restores
in the Eucharist, He comes to us
in every moment, His grace is still being poured out

His mercy is not finished
this day of grace is still unfolding

Wherever you are right now
you can still return
you can still trust
you can still receive

🙏 Jesus, I trust in You
