CFVC celebrates Juneteenth because every human being deserves to be free from oppression and slavery. Today we honor the anniversary of emancipation of
more than 250,000 enslaved black people in Texas. This day came to be known as "Juneteenth," by the newly freed people in Texas.

🔒Update passwords regularly and keep them private.
🔒Check location-sharing settings on your phone and apps.

Each tribute shared at the 40th Anniversary Celebration was simple, but meaningful.

A few words that carried a lot of heart.

That same kind of care is what we aim to provide every day to those who walk through our doors.

You can help make that possible. Consider donating to CFVC today: https://www.cfvc.org/donate/

Many survivors describe feeling that something wasn't right long before they had words for what they were experiencing. Feeling constantly on edge, afraid to speak up, pressured to explain every decision, or worried about how someone will react can all be signs that a relationship is affecting your sense of safety and well-being.

You don't have to have everything figured out to reach out for support. Sometimes the first step is simply paying attention to what your instincts are telling you and talking with someone you trust.

If you would like to talk with an advocate, Cherokee Family Violence Center's 24-Hour Crisis Hotline is available at 770-479-1703.

One of the things we hear most often from people who join a support group is:

"I didn't realize how much I needed this."

Difficult experiences can leave us feeling disconnected and alone. Sometimes, simply being in a room with people who understand can make all the difference.

CFVC's support groups offer a welcoming space to share, listen, learn, and heal alongside others who have walked similar paths. There is no pressure, no judgment, and no expectation to share more than you're comfortable with.

Safety is about more than physical well-being. It's also about feeling supported, understood, and connected.

This National Safety Month, consider taking a step toward community, healing, and hope.

There is something powerful about saying someone’s name out loud and honoring what they mean to you.

These moments at the 40th Anniversary Celebration reminded us that none of us do this work alone.

Your donation helps ensure no one has to face their hardest moments alone either.

When people think about safety, they often think about smoke detectors, seat belts, or emergency plans. But what about safety at home?

If you are experiencing abuse, feeling controlled, threatened, or afraid, you do not have to navigate it alone. A conversation with an advocate can help you understand your options, create a safety plan, and connect you with resources that fit your situation.

👉You do not have to be ready to leave a relationship to call.
👉You do not have to be in immediate crisis to reach out.
👉You simply have to take the first step.

Every call is confidential. Every conversation matters.
