Many of our projects have several layers and take teamwork, skill, and time to complete. For example, on this back porch project, our amazing volunteers planned to start by replacing damaged screens and rotten window trim. At the shop, they prepared and cut new trim pieces, then painted them on site for a fresh look. Next, they planned to add new screen material and install new sill pieces, painting all the trim to match.

There’s still more to do, like painting the exterior door and clearing shrubbery, but every careful step brings us closer to a safer, more beautiful home. We’re so grateful for our volunteers; their strong work ethic and commitment truly make a difference for our neighbors.

We’ve been truly blessed with beautiful weather this week, perfect for our volunteers to complete projects like this new ramp in Massillon for a husband and wife.

Thanks to this ramp, this couple can safely and confidently remain independent in their home. We pray that God continues to watch over them and fills their home with comfort for many years to come.

As we close out this week and begin Memorial Day weekend, we are reminded of the spirit of service and sacrifice that defines our great nation. Our dedicated volunteers gave of themselves to give the gift of freedom to a local homeowner who had waited far too long. In honor of those who have served and sacrificed for our country, it feels especially meaningful to help a neighbor regain independence and dignity.

This beautiful wooden ramp was specially adapted for the daily challenges this homeowner faces, built with the utmost respect for the quality of life every neighbor deserves. We pray that this addition to her home will serve as a daily reminder of God's unwavering love and as a lasting symbol of hope and opportunity for all who pass through it. May our acts of service reflect both our faith and our gratitude for the freedoms we cherish as Americans.
