Doctors and Hospitals only take Brain Injured patients so far in rehabilitation. That is why many are left without additional answers, needing help from family, and unable to work. However, there are answers and there is help!!
The BART Foundation offers trustworthy and reliable information through video format about alternative therapies to assist those with all forms of traumatic or acquired brain injury (TBI, ABI).
The videos feature interviews and presentations from leading physicians and medical professionals about: craniosacral therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, photobiomodulation (also known as LED light therapy and low-level laser therapy), neurofeedback therapy, and Omega-3 fish oils.

The BART Foundation provides reliable information about alternative therapies for those with traumatic brain injury or acquired brain injury (TBI, ABI).

"Each year, it is estimated that over 2 million people experience TBI in the U.S. For the 2 million TBIs recorded each year, the associated lifetime financial costs, including health care, lost income, and reduced quality of life are hard to measure, but have been projected to be as high as $750 billion. Many people with TBI also find themselves without follow-up care, facing challenges that could have been avoided."

This is what We Are Strong is aiming to help fix. To help individuals get the care and support needed and not be dismissed. So, please take the time to consider donating to help these people that are in desperate need, many of which are completely unable to help themselves.

Every year, nearly 5 million Americans are evaluated for traumatic brain injury (TBI). But many individuals and their caregivers don’t get needed follow-up support after initial injury. A new report recommends structural changes to improve TBI research and care over the next decade.

Tai Chi is one of the Best medicines out there for our brains!!
We Are Strong participates in Tai Chi twice a week if you would like to join us, PM me for details.
I remember right after my first BI my vestibular therapist was trying to get me to do Tai Chi and it was so hard. The thing is I had to learn how to be patient with myself. I did the research though and if you are doing true Tai Chi it is amazing!!
My balance has improved a lot, one guy had his cholesterol drop in just a few weeks, all of us see improved movement, it is great for memory training, right now we are working on improving our breathing.
Here is also a link to this free online event I just found that looks amazing: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/tai-chi-qi-gong-2022-biayr-programming-series-tickets-250115079937

To help offer resources and support that Brain Injury Survivors need to gain traction in their recovery, We Are Strong is asking for donations from You.
Please think of us today and throughout March during Brain Injury Awareness Month as a place to invest your funds. Invest in People. Invest in those that are willing to put in the work.
To so many we don't look like we need help because the injury is inside, but the damage is vast!

I have been to TBI support groups with some really smart, funny Brain Injury Survivors. These groups offer encouragement and social time which is great. The Ohio Brain Injury Association puts on seminars, and they even show you about technology to help improve/ease our wellbeing. While that seems useful, if you live on social security, you usually can't afford it and they aren't showing us to a way to help pay for it.
Our goal at We Are Strong is to go above and beyond, to provide the resources to help connect BI Survivors with therapies and ways to get better/healthier. So, they can get back to work without suffering. We also want to connect them with resources to help pay for those technologies and things that will help them function better to get them there faster. In addition, we will also be providing the support system to help understand the steps needed, provided encouragement and knowledge that while difficult, this is possible. Email us for more details.
Please considering donating to our GoFundMe to support our mission!! https://gofund.me/34de09c9

Good Morning!! March 1st is the Kick Off to Brain Injury Awareness Month!
In light of March 1st also being Self Injury Awareness Day I thought today I might focus on the damaging emotional effects a brain injury can have on an individual and how we can be overcomers in light of those. So let me tell you a story about me:
I was 3 brain injuries in, I was tired, in a lot of pain and a single mom trying to figure out how to function (really letting my 14 yr old help me run things). The doctor told me It had been so long since my last injury (I think less than 2 yrs at this point) that I just wasn’t going to get any better. Who says that? ugh
So, I gave up…On that doctor. My mom says that I am resilient. Its one of my better characteristics. I knew that I could only see people that had my best interests in mind and if they didn’t think I was going to get better, they weren’t going to try to help me get better.
It’s the same in the Mental Health industry. I have seen so many counselors that suffer from anxiety and depression.
But their life doesn’t have to be your life. There are answers out there and we can get better. After I gave up on that doctor it took me loads of research and time but I found a doctor that cared and I did get better!!
Just reading this right now looking for help and answers says that you are strong, probably much stronger than you realize.
