Friends of Stark Pound - FOSP

10/17/2026

Special delivery! It’s Bruno!!

This guy has such an amazing personality and we think maybe people are afraid to meet him because of his eye. 🥺 He was assessed by a vet and they determined it’s not painful but FOSP is willing to pay for removal if an adopter steps up - they would rather he heals in a home. ❤️ We promise it doesn’t hinder him - he just can’t see things on his left side. 😆

Bruno is an easy walker further away from the pound, but will pull when he hears the barking dogs. He takes treats very gently and seems to make friends with any person he meets. He is very sweet and already knows “sit” and “down” which shows he has a capacity to learn commands. 🫶🏼 He loves his ears rubbed and his butt scratched and is just hoping someone can look beyond his looks and see the beautiful boy he is inside.

If you are looking for a buddy, look no further than Bruno. As always, bring the whole family (dogs on leash, cats in a hard sided carrier) for a meet and greet and see if he belongs in your home! 🏡🐾

🐾HEEEEEERS JOHNNY!!!🐾

This spunky 3 year old/ 41 pound boy is such a happy guy! He can be choosy about his dog friends, prefers calm females but may do best as the only pet in the house. He walks nicely and tries to keep his cage clean. Bring the family to meet this beautiful brindle soon.

We have no history on stray dogs.
Please bring your family and other pets to meet them and see if they are a good fit for you.**Please prepare to crate your pets for the ride home. We do not allow newly adopted dogs to ride in the car without being properly separated from their new friends **
Decompression and patience are the keys to success when adopting a shelter dog.

☔️Rainy day fashion show!☔️
Today was such a gloomy day that the dogs didn’t even want to be outside. We decided that they should have some indoor fun!

💝Special thanks to the volunteers who braved the mud so that the ones who didn’t mind still got their walks in!!

Hippy is a sweet teddy bear ready to be hugged and loved and cherished. 🥰 He is now the 3rd longest resident, and has been waiting 165 days (over 5 months 💔) for someone to say “yep, I want that one!” He is around 2 years old and 45 pounds of pure fun! 😎

Hippy is a young low rider bulldog mix that loves to run, play and explore! Hiking, walks, backyard adventures? He’s your guy! 🐾 And if there’s water involved, even better! Rivers, ponds, pools… he loves them ALL! 💦 He’s looking for an active family who can keep up with his energy and love for adventure.

Besides having the cutest smoosh face and BEST head tilt, Hippy seems to be housebroken, has potential with other dogs and is eager to learn with the help of treats! He met a cat once and was a bit too excited so a kitty-free home would probably be best.

This groovy guy is ready to trade shelter life for a family of his own. His biggest wish might be all the food 🦴, but a forever home filled with love and adventures would be pretty great too! ❤️ Bring the whole family, including resident dogs, to meet happy Hippy! 🐾

☔️RAIN☔️ This 7 month old/ 41 pound baby has come so far since she’s been with us. When she arrived she had never been on a leash before and now she loves her walks. She can’t wait to meet new friends. She will need some guidance as she can be a little jumpy. She’s still just a baby and needs to understand manners. She’s a quick learner and is already sitting when asked.
She will need plenty of exercise and would thrive with an active family.

Six months is an incredibly long amount of time for a dog to be at a shelter. 💔 Shelters are meant to be temporary holding places for reunification or rehoming and these two boys don’t deserve to wait any longer. They have both been waiting since APRIL.

Murph is the longest resident, having waited 184 days since he came to the shelter in April. This guy is such a photogenic dog and loves to ham it up for the camera. He seems to like other dogs which would help burn any excess energy. He is wicked smart and likes to use his brain (and nose!) for treats - he will even play “pick a hand”! He also loves toys - he picked one to show off during his under the sea photo shoot. He really needs a hero soon, he doesn’t do well with the long kennel hours. He is 2 years old and about 48 pounds.

How Hunter has now become 2nd longest resident, we cannot figure out. Arriving April 16, this 4 year old boy has now been waiting 182 days to get adopted. 🥺 He is such a nice boy with enough energy to take adventures but once that energy is out, he loves to lounge! With consistent time out of his kennel, we know this boy will absolutely shine. ✨ His favorite thing is squeaky balls and time with volunteers. He is housebroken and has potential with other pups - the whole package! Scoop this happy guy up - he doesn’t want to wait any longer!

Come meet these pups and see for yourself what a perfect companion they can be. Bring the whole family (dogs on leash, cats in a hard-sided carrier) for a meet and greet! 🏡💛
