Most times, we plan service projects for our members. Other times, opportunities to help show up when we least expect them.

Earlier this week, after wrapping up kids programming in Alliance, we were heading back to the van when we noticed a trailer full of donations waiting to be unloaded for our friends at Sew4Service - Alliance, OH Chapter.

Without hesitation, Liz and De’Yan jumped in and got to work.

We love moments like these—when lending a hand isn’t on the schedule, but stepping up just feels like the right thing to do. 💙

Second chances is what is all about!

Derrek Humphrey is one of 65 graduates celebrating a second chance through the Albany Housing Authority’s YouthBuild Program. The program does more than teach skills: It helps young people get certified in trades and land jobs.

Our young people had the opportunity to tour UA Local 94 Canton Ohio’s HVAC and Plumbing training centers and learn firsthand about the skilled trades careers available through their union. From hands-on training opportunities to long-term career pathways, Local 94 shared valuable insight into what it takes to build a successful future in the trades.

Thank you to Local 94 for welcoming our group and showing our young people the many opportunities available in the HVAC and plumbing industries! 🔧🚰👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

When he finishes the YouthBuild program, Waylon looks forward to starting a career in construction!
