This weekend, Forgotten Flag Foundation President Chris Staud is in Washington, D.C., volunteering with Honor Flight Pittsburgh as a dedicated “Guardian” for our nation’s veterans.

As a “Guardian”, Chris is spending the day assisting, supporting, and accompanying these incredible men and women as they visit the memorials built in their honor.

We’re proud to see our leadership living out our mission firsthand: standing beside those who stood for all of us.

Thank you to Honor Flight Pittsburgh for the life‑changing work you do, and thank you to our veterans for your service and sacrifice.

The Forgotten Flag Foundation is proud to launch The James Hanna Project — a mission dedicated to flying service members’ flags across the air, land, and sea.

This project carries even greater meaning as we remember James Hanna, a World War II veteran who recently passed away. Last year, James was the guest of honor at our first flag dedication ceremony in Canonsburg, PA, where his courage and patriotism inspired everyone present.

Each flag represents the enduring spirit of heroes like James — those who served with honor and continue to unite us through their memory.

Together, we’re carrying gratitude, delivering honor, and connecting hearts — one mission at a time.

This morning in Canonsburg, the Forgotten Flag Foundation had the honor of marching in the Memorial Day parade — a powerful reminder of why this day matters.

Surrounded by our community, we carried the stories of the heroes who never made it home. Their sacrifice is the reason we gather, remember, and continue our mission.

Grateful for everyone who stopped to shake a hand, share a memory, or simply stand in respect as the flags passed by. Moments like these keep their legacy alive.

We remember. We honor. We carry the flag forward.

If you’re interested in learning more about our work, please contact our foundation president, Chris Staud, at 304 276 5209.

This afternoon, volunteers from the Forgotten Flag Foundation placed roughly 1,400 American flags in Section 4 of the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

A simple gesture, but a powerful reminder: every flag represents a life of service, a family’s sacrifice, and a legacy we’re committed to honoring.

Grateful for the volunteers who showed up, the stories remembered, and the heroes who rest there.

A special thank you to Matthew Gray, David Bentz, Dana Matt, and others who joined us for this event.

This morning, volunteers from the Forgotten Flag Foundation joined members of Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW Post 191 to honor our nation’s heroes by placing new American flags at headstones throughout Saint Patrick Cemetery.

Acts like this—quiet, early, and done with care—remind us that remembrance is a responsibility we share as a community.

We’re grateful to everyone who showed up, lent a hand, and helped preserve the dignity and memory of those who served.

If you’d like to learn more about our mission or join us for future events, reach out and be part of keeping these stories alive.
