Shelters for Standing Rock

Shelters for Standing Rock Oceti Sakowin (Seven Council Fires) Camp in North Dakota needs your help! They are in desperate need of improved shelter to help them winterize the camp.

They have become a community and want to stay together! Not only have they become the example of what people can do when they stand united to protect the Earth, but they are the front resistance to Big Oil and raising awareness for the entire world to see. Goal of campaign is to purchase 3 winterized yurts which can be used for community centers. COST: $10,000 EACH

WHAT IS A YURT? A Mongolian Yur

t is a warm beautiful winter sturdy circle structure very strong that can with stand the wind. The vision is to assist the camp in becoming a sustainable community so they can continue to light the way to healing the Earth and the People. Winter is coming and a need for stable, warm structures such as yurts is immediate. We need at least three as community centers one for the wellness center, one as a meeting room for council and teachings, one as the dining hall and whatever else they need the space. They also need charging stations for cell phones, and lastly showers! In the moment that I am writing this there are no showers in camp. Please help with what you can to see this growing community blossom. "Mitakuye Oyasin" (All beings are all connected)
