This Ohio River Sweep event will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

The event is FREE and welcomes all ages. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

This event is part of the ORSANCO basin- wide annual Ohio River Sweep. You will be required to sign a waiver before participating. Learn more here at www.orsanco.org

Bags, gloves, sanitizer, safety vests and reach and grab sticks will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Please wear brightly colored clothing and good close toed walking shoes.

Why is this important?

The Ohio River basin is a vital resource worth that scale of effort. More than 30 million people live in the Ohio River Basin, 5 million rely directly on the river for drinking water, and the basin supports 160+ fish species, endangered mussels, and some of the richest aquatic biodiversity in the nation. Protecting a resource that large takes more than any one organization or community acting alone. ORSANCO’s role is to serve as the catalyst that connects local efforts into something basin-wide — building the awareness, stewardship, and pride that keep the river healthy for the millions of people and species who depend on it.

The goal of this clean up is to have as many sites as possible taking part on the same day, turning individual cleanups into one coordinated effort spanning the entire Ohio River Basin.

Join us Saturday, October 24 from 10am-1pm as we start on HWY 66.
