Patsy Alvey & Rebecca McCampbell Fenn represented our chapter at our SW District Meeting at General Thomas Posey chapter in Mt. Vernon last Friday. Patsy read our Regent's report & attended the Regent session in the absence of our Regent, Charlena Williams. Rebecca attended the Treasurer's session. State Regent Elaine Sholty & Southern District Director Rebecca Speaker are shown with Rebecca & Patsy. Rebecca also saw, Marianne Hughes, who she paged with at State many years ago. It was a very good day.

Lafayette Spring DAR was thrilled to donate a set of Liberty Belle series books to each 5th grade classroom and library at William Tell Elementary. The books were made available through a grant from the National Society DAR to celebrate America's 250th anniversary next year. We hope all the students who read these books learn a lot about America's Revolutionary period. Lafayette Spring DAR members Patsy Alvey and Rebecca Fenn presented the books at WTE.

Lafayette Spring was honored to donate a set of Liberty Belle books to each of the 5th grade classrooms and library at Perry Central Elementary. The books were made available through a grant from the National Society DAR to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America next year.

DAR members Rebecca Fenn and Marilyn Rhodes presented Cannelton Elementary Librarian, Mrs. Hulse with a set of Liberty Belle series books. The DAR also presented a set of books to Cannelton Elementary Mrs. Powers 4th grade and Miss Henderson's 5th grade classrooms. The books were made available through a grant from the National Society DAR to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary next year.

Last week our chapter proudly acknowledged some outstanding students at Perry Central Schools. American History Chairman, Patsy Alvey presented the 5th grade essay contest winner, Brooks Hubert with a certificate and a monetary award and also a surprise announcement that he had won the state award for the 5th grade and will be honored at a special luncheon in May in Indianapolis! Congratulations Brooks and to his parents!

Another fun get-together is in the books for our chapter. We were sorry that several members couldn't make it when we changed the date. Many thanks to Patsy Alvey for being such a gracious host & to Dave for cooking a pork loin for us. Lafayette Spring Chapter, Cannelton, Indiana enjoyed our November meeting hosted by the Marquis de Lafayette @ the Patio Steakhouse. He wanted to have a picnic for us at Lafayette Spring but alas it has turned cold in Southern Indiana so we took a raincheck for next spring.

Tonight, we had the privilege of preparing & serving a hot meal @ Table of Blessing in Tell City. We are able to serve our community in many different ways from feeding the hungry, supporting our veterans, promoting history and patriotism to sponsoring Good Citizenship contests at our local schools.
