Every woman who shows up to ride and registers will receive a silk rose and be entered into a special Valentine’s Day prize drawing. A perfect touch of sweetness added to the Mardi Gras spirit.

Experience the thrill of this historic celebration as participants run or ride horseback while chasing chickens in true old-style Mardi Gras fashion.

Join us for a day of fun and music from 8am to 5:30pm. Don't forget to grab your t-shirts for the event while they last. They are selling fast and we have limited quantities and sizes. Hey St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Sheriff Mark Garber and Lafayette City Marshal Reggie Thomas here's a heads-up! Chief of Police Brent Breaux from Cankton is throwing down a challenge for a gumbo cookoff on February 10th at the Crew of Cankton Courir De Mardi Gras at Landon Pitre Memorial Park.

So, think you've got what it takes to whip up the best gumbo? Join in for some good food, good music, and a good time!

Gumbo Cookoff Teams are $60 And if you just want to join the fun, it's $20 per person for the Run-Ride, and $5 to get into the event. Childrens chicken run will take place at the park beginning at 2:00pm. Plus, from 2:30pm to 5:30pm, enjoy live music by Dylan Aucoin and the Judice Ramblers. Come join us for the 3rd Annual Crew of Cankton Courir De Mardi Gras at the Landon Pitre Memorial Park in Cankton, LA! Featuring live music from Alligator Blue (2 to 4), Dylan Aucoin and The Judice Ramblers (4 to 6), a gumbo cook-off, chicken run and trail ride. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $10 for each event (tickets are needed for each event) and gumbo cook-off teams are $60. All proceeds benefit the Special Olympics of Louisiana! Purchase tickets at this link or the day of the event.
