A big thank you to Citizens First Fire Training for coming out the past three days and delivering an outstanding Auto Extrication class!
Members from all three shifts, along with our Union brothers and sisters from other area departments, were able to attend and participate. The training was hands-on, informative, and extremely valuable — exactly what we needed to sharpen our skills.
We truly appreciate the time, expertise, and effort Citizens First Fire Training put into making this class a success. Well done!
Also, Thank you to canfield fair for hosting, DRS and Mission BBQ for providing lunch over the three days and Metalico for donating all the cars

Members of A-Shift were in attendance at The Ohio State University to receive the EMS Star of Life Award for their actions at the crash on Rt 11.
These dedicated first responders showed exceptional skill, quick decision-making, and true commitment while working under pressure to save lives. Their professionalism and teamwork during this serious incident represent the very best in emergency medical services.
We are extremely proud of our A-Shift team! This recognition is well-deserved and highlights the outstanding service they deliver to our community every day.

Local 4507 would like to express serious concerns regarding current staffing levels and the impact they are having on the safety of our members and the community we serve.

Due to management’s decision not to replace a full-time firefighter who recently left on B shift, the district experienced a significant reduction in service today. From 0700 to 1900, both Medic 101 and Command 101 were taken out of service until a part-time Firefighter/EMT is scheduled on shift tonight.

Medic 101 is the busiest medic unit in the district. Its temporary closure left our community relying on only two medic units, both of which were cross-staffing fire apparatus, along with just one fully staffed fire truck.

Additionally, Command 101—normally providing initial on-scene command through the shift captain—was unavailable, as the captain was reassigned to S-101. This left the district without an immediate dedicated incident commander at emergency scenes until additional manpower could arrive.

These conditions are not sustainable and raise serious concerns about response times, firefighter safety, and the level of care our community receives.

Local 4507 remains committed to protecting both our members and the residents we proudly serve. We urge management to address these staffing shortages and work toward a solution that ensures safe and effective emergency response at all times.
