Tonight, we celebrated our SPL's birthday- Happy, Happy Birthday Mason (a couple days ago)!

Also, we celebrated Lucas passing his Board of Review for First Class rank! Way to go, Lucas!

These boys have a lot to be proud about. They got so much work done at Buttecreek Scout Ranch!
They cleared 2 huge dump trailers worth of overgrowth and blackberries making way for the mower as well as a future play structure.
They replaced rotten boards at the campfire bowl.
Helped build some picnic benches.
Cleared the trail to the gold panning area.
John, Mason and Christian had interviews to work this summer as staffers in the kitchen and even got to do some work.
Buttecreek staff were so appreciative of all the work we got done and impressed with the character and work ethic of our guys.

This morning, scouts & families from Troop 258 & Troop 452 & Pack 257 helped remember veterans at Canby's own Zion Memorial Park Cemetery. They placed flags and remembered each veteran by name. They also helped put out the crosses for the Women's Auxiliary members. Our scouts enjoy this service opportunity every year with the local American Legion.

Several of the Troop 258 scouts (and family members) were able to attend the Memorial Day flag laying at Willamette National Cemetery. It's an honor to place the flags and thank each veteran by name. We joined scouts from across the Cascade Pacific Council, each unit was assigned a section and made quick work of placing so many flags. It was a great evening, a little warm, but beautiful.

Tonight, scouts did some pre-meeting Personal Fitness MB work (not pictured). During the regular meeting, they worked in their patrols to create new patrol flags. The Mighty Eagles, RadioActive Patrol, and Pork Pirates! We heard lots of laughter and the scouts seemed to have a good time getting creative! Excellent job scouts!
