Thank you to Canby Kiwanis Club for another spectacular parade day! It is always fun to look forward to opening the county fair each year. Kiwanis does so much to give back to the youth of Canby. Troop 258 is honored to be chartered by their club.

Michael Breshears led the creation of the Vietnam Era Veterans Memorial beside Burgerville. So when the VFW reached out and asked for Troop 258's support, we answered the call. Mr. and Mrs. Breshears have been very involved in supporting the community. It was an honor to be a part of his memorial ceremony and to show our appreciation and reverence for a wonderful man.

Troop 258 had a couple of very special recognitions at Camp Meriwether's 100th anniversary!

The troop earned "Honor Troop" and was added to an engraved plaque on the anchor outside the trading post at camp. This was made possible by the leadership of our SPL, Mason, and ASPL, Christian. Honor Troop comes with a new ribbon that will be added to the troop flag pole!

Additionally, two of our scouts were recognized for the very special "Vi Et Consilio" award. This was a difficult decision with so many great scouts, but only two were able to recieve this recognition. Congratulations to Harrison & Devlin on a job well done!

Just a few more pics from Camp Meriwether. Scouts are finishing up MB requirements today where they can, a few will have a little work to finish up MBs after camp. Last night there was a camp-wide beach party and it was a great evening of fun and fellowship! Big campwide closing campfire this evening to wrap up the week, and then we will be heading home tomorrow morning!

Another photo dump with more camp life at Camp Meriwether! We had 6 scouts go out overnight for the Wilderness Survival MB, happy to say all returned safely this morning, proud of their survival skills! Lots of other MB work, adult shooting events, cooking in camp, and TJ even organized a troop campfire program with skits from all the scouts. Weather at camp is great!

"Shoot, wet, patch".... quite a few of our scouts & parents participated in the Polar Shoot, which included shooting 3 rounds at the r***e range into ice blocks, then walking through a sprinkler... all at 6am!

10 scouts and 2 adults went down to the beachfront for the Polar Plunge, also at 6am! A bunch of these guys then raced up and ALSO did the Polar Shoot! (Video of a few of the overachievers đŸ˜†)

We had a couple big accomplishments at last night's meeting. Way to go Harrison on achieving Second Class. Rye has been super determined to rank up. He finished Scout Rank and we hadn't even had an opportunity to present him with the patch when he received Tenderfoot Rank.
