🎣SPFFF exciting volunteer opportunity

Most of you, I am sure, have heard about Lakeside Outfitters 2026 Walleye Tournament May 1st -3rd.

There are a lot of prizes available to children 15 and under. We are looking to sponsor some of our jr.. anglers - what we need from you is to volunteer to take anglers out so that you can give them the experience to participate in this tournament. We will pay for their entry and bait.

Please reply to this post or reach out to me to let me know asap. We need to get a number of available volunteers before we can offer this to our Jr. Anglers.

We made it out this morning despite the windchill temperature of 19 degrees!! 🥶
The fish thought it was too cold also, not one in sight!

The canal behind Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum on Lakeport Rd in Chittenango, NY

We will be outside breaking in the fishing poles!!!
It is going to be a bit chilly, please be sure to check the weather and dress your kids appropriately!

Our tournament each year is our largest fundraiser. We are looking for tournament sponsors.

We have both monetary and raffle item sponsorships available.

All proceeds help us to continue to provide all of our programs at no charge to our participants!

We currently serve kids in Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and Chenango Counties! We even have a couple of participants who live in Florida and come to join us while they visit in the summer!

Welcome to my 5th annual youth essay contest!

This is hands down one of my most favorite days on the water and I can't wait to see what 2026 brings! Thank you to all that have entered in past years and congratulations to those that have won the last 4 years!

This year I will be giving away 1 all inclusive Charter on Oneida lake.

RULES:

DEC announced that annual sampling of the rainbow trout run is scheduled for Thursday, March 19th, at 9 a.m., at one of the Finger Lakes' most important tributaries-Naples Creek. The public is encouraged to attend.

The annual rainbow trout sampling draws a large public audience. Spectators are encouraged to observe safely as they enjoy this educational experience.

DEC conducts sampling to aid in its ongoing assessment of Finger Lakes fisheries management practices and to provide up-to-date information for the opening day fishing forecast. During sampling, length, weight, s*x, and spawning condition data will be collected for each fish captured. A scale is used to determine age and growth rate. Sampling results will be available at the DEC Region 8 fisheries office prior to the April 1 opening of the Finger Lakes tributary season.

Anglers who want to fish for trout before April 1 are reminded that although catch and release trout fishing is open for inland streams, Finger Lakes tributaries remain closed to fishing until April 1. The main bodies of the Finger Lakes are open to fishing year-round.

Directions to Naples Creek: Sampling will start at the Route 245 bridge, just north of the village of Naples. Route 245 joins Route 21 north of the village. The Route 245 bridge is approximately 0.2 to 0.3 miles from the junction with Route 21.

May no fishing club as we have our 7th annual Shane Pinard Walleye Tournament on May 16th. This is our largest fundraiser of the year. There will be raffles so keep your eye on our page!

June 7th will be the annual Kids Fishing Derby hosted by the Over the Hill Gang and SPFFF. More information to follow.

June 20th we will have our annual event with Cazenovia Preservation Foundation & Madison County Trout Unlimited Chapter 680. Check out the event under our page and follow for more information.
