VAPTOW will now be working hand in hand with the National Open Commerce and Safer Highways Coalition toward better representation in DC. The first task being taken on is attack on the American Towers by the Federal Trade Commission. Depending on the ruling from the FTC towing in the US could forever change. We are currently taking donations to help fight this attack in Washington.

MEETING OF THE COMMONWEALTH TRANSPORTATION BOARD December 6, 2022

The report notes that there has been a decrease in incident and lane closures possibly due to the implementation of TRIP and a person’s hours of delay on I-81 have also decreased.

"This decrease in incidents and lane closures may be attributed to the implementation of the Towing and Recovery Incentive Program (TRIP), which aims to improve incident response times so traffic can move again. The total person-hours of delay on I-81 also has decreased"

Our Christmas dinner and end of the year business meeting for VAPTOW was a success. I would like to put a special thanks out to the following people that made it happen Howard Kritzer with Matheny Motors for providing an amazing dinner. Charlie Brown and Shane Spradlin for getting the s***t shoot and venue set up, Christina Rinehart Simmons for preparing appetizers and helping set up and break down everything for the night and Walter Hinkley for some yummy deserts. The afternoon was a nice end to an eventful year and a great start to a new chapter in our growing association. The day was very relaxing and brought back memories of attending some of the old towing events from years ago. We hope this is only the beginning of a successful venture that will grow the towing industry in Virginia and allow us to be a model for others. Please enjoy some of the pictures from the night
