We are performing a few Broadway selections, a little bit of jazz, a little bit of rock, and a little slice of "Americana" too!

Spread the Love! The Finger Lakes Concert Band is back at it on Sunday, October 21 @ 3PM in the Canandaigua Middle School Program to include works by Malcolm Arnold, Percy Grainger, Clare Grundman, Leroy Anderson and yes... The Beatles! :-)

To those of you who just performed at our final concert – BRAVO! And THANK YOU! for another great year of Music making and for the very generous end of year gift.



I have received the go ahead from Hochstein and the City of CDGA to again hold a summer concert at the Kershaw Gazebo.



Here’s our summer schedule:



Wednesday – Aug 1 – 7-9PM Rehearsal – Location TBA

Wednesday – Aug 8 – 7-9PM Rehearsal – Location TBA

Thursday – Aug 9 – 7PM Concert – Kershaw Park Gazebo

Hi Everyone,

I am really looking forward to a GREAT rehearsal this Thursday night at Canandaigua Academy!

I am hoping that we will be able to run the MAJORITY of our concert program without significant stopping.

A HUGE thank you to Grace Wood for stepping in last week, she had a great time working with you. My apologies for not being there, the home football game schedule has been very different this year…

Our concert on Thursday, October 19 is really coming up fast - ! We truly only have two more rehearsals so attendance at those will be critical.


As you MAY know, we have had a number of FLCC students perform with us over the last couple of years. I just received word that there is a young lady who plays clarinet who would like to join FLCB, however has no car or reliable way to get to rehearsal. I am wondering if anyone lives near the campus that might consider picking her up and dropping her off?


Lastly, for those who are returning members of the group, you know that while the FLCB is truly a community organization, we rely on the Hochstein School of Music in the background. With that, Hochstein does request that members of the band register for the group and pay a small tuition. This enrollment fee supports the insurances that cover our school usage, the associated costs for facility and concert hall usage, new music purchases, programs/posters, and my remuneration.
