Get Ready to Run, Walk or TROT for a Reason!

The Arc Ontario's 17th Annual Canandaigua Turkey Trot 5k Fun Run & Walk will commence at
F.A. Baker Memorial Park on Thanksgiving morning!

Get Ready to run for a reason! Gather your friends and family and kick-off the holiday season with The Arc Ontario!

Pre-register for the race for an early bird rate of $22.20. Early registration closes November 25th at 11:59 PM; Day of registration will be $25 and will be available online until 9:00 am on November 26th; Children 12 and under can register for free.

Proceeds from the Canandaigua Turkey Trot will benefit the Friends of The Arc Ontario Foundation and The Arc Ontario's growing menu of innovative programs and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities or other challenges.

In-person, Day of registration will begin at 7:45 AM on November 26th, The run will begin at 9:00 am. If you register online, there is no need to register or check-in at the event.

Parking will be available at Fuller Funeral Home on Buffalo Street and at Baker Park (parking is available in both the upper and lower lots at the park).

Big news for our Creative Expressions team! 🎨🎶🌱

We are beyond proud to announce that Cici Coen, Chris Ellison, and Nathan Merrill were honored with the Team Excellence Award at the New York State Association of Day Service Providers Symposium!

This brand-new award for 2026 celebrates the power of collaboration, recognizing teams that demonstrate innovation, adaptability, and service excellence to create truly meaningful outcomes. Out of agencies across the entire state, only TWO teams received this incredible honor! (While Nathan was unable to attend the ceremony in person, his impact was certainly celebrated alongside Cici and Chris!)

Our Creative Expressions program offers a comprehensive therapeutic experience that fosters creativity through visual arts, music, and horticulture. Whether it’s exploring drawing, painting, and sculpture in our Art Program, transforming lives through the power of music, or engaging all five senses year-round in the Eberhardt Center greenhouse, this team works tirelessly to help individuals build skills, express themselves, and connect with their community.

In October, we celebrate U.S. Department of Labor's National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) to recognize and honor the contributions made to the workplace by people with disabilities AND the employers who work with these valuable employees.

“National Disability Employment Awareness Month reminds us of the valued contributions people with disabilities make in our nation’s workplaces, and the 50th anniversary of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 marks a major milestone in our nation’s ongoing quest to advance access and equity for all Americans,” said Assistant Secretary for Disability Employment Policy Taryn M. Williams.

Every day, we must celebrate inclusivity, and we must promote the technologies, tools, and attitudes that foster welcoming work environments for people with disabilities.
