The Board of Directors guide CWAB's mission and vision, set policies and guidelines, coordinate with the Canal Wi******er Local School District, provide training and technical assistance to member Clubs, and maintain legal and financial filings as the chief entity.
Each Director is elected to the Board by the membership for a two-year renewable term. Clubs also have elected Officers who manage the day-to-day operations of their athletic club including fundraising, purchasing, and more.
Want to get involved? We are currently seeking qualified volunteers to join the board of directors as the President, Secretary, and Liaison
1. President Responsibilities
1. conduct all meetings and provide leadership to the organization.
2. ensure the business of the operating organization is conducted consistently with all applicable laws, rules, and policies.
3. responsible for appointing Committee Chairperson(s) and interim and acting Directors during vacancies on the Board or Clubs according to Corporate bylaws.
4. collaborates with all members of the board and ad hoc committees.
5. liaison between the Corporation, CWLSD, and OHSAA.
2. Secretary Responsibilities
1. keep the minutes of the Corporation meetings and distribute the minutes of the previous meeting prior to the next scheduled meeting.
2. responsible to receive minutes of the meetings of the Sport Clubs from the Club’s Secretary.
3. helps to coordinate fundraising efforts among Clubs to avoid redundancy and direct competition between Clubs and other events within the community when feasible.
4. shall act as the liaison between the Corporation and regulatory compliance entities.
3. Liaison Responsibilities
1. assist and coordinate technical assistance between the Club and the Board.
2. support the existing Club members.
3. assist in creating new Club members as directed by the Board and the CWSD Athletic Department.
4. Serve as a communication liaison between the Corporation and Club members.
5. Keep the website relevant and up to date
6. Help coordinate corporate fundraising
Meetings are held in the evening every third Monday of each month. Board members are expected to maintain regular communication with the board. To learn about the responsibilities, time commitment, or to submit a letter of intent, please email the CWAB President. All those interested are encouraged to contact Kelly Noffsinger board president by May 15, 2026.

Each May, all our sports boards come together to vote on the new CWAB board. This 5-member team works closely with the sports teams, athletic department and school district to make sure our athletes are provided for over and beyond what the school district can fund. They meet monthly as a team and then quarterly with the sports boards. The board positions are on a rotating 2-year commitment (1 term) with even years voting on President, secretary and liaison while the odd years vote on VP, and treasurer. This ensures that there will always be constants among the remaining members.
After 6 dedicated years to CWAB, Kelly Noffsinger is stepping down as president and will not seek a 4th term. After 2 years Dan Armstrong (liaison) and Barbie Boyd (secretary) will also not seek a 2nd term. These 3 have spent countless hours aligning board policies, helping start up 4 new booster boards, conducting meetings, delivering aid and assistance where needed, and building relationships with our athletic department and sports boards. New members will join our very capable Arnetta Davis (current VP) and Deb Weber (treasurer). Kelly, Dan and Barbie will work closely alongside our new voted in board members from May – July and then as contractual resources until December 2026 to make the transition as smooth as possible. This was the process we used last year when bringing Deb on and it made for a seamless handover of power.

Signs are 18x24 double-sided.  They come with the stakes to put them in the ground.  All signs must be paid in advance to order.  Submissions without payment will not be fulfilled.
