On this site there will be updates concerning animals found in town by the local Animal Control, and others are welcome to post animals lost or found in the area. This group was created to help get the word out about local missing/found animals and the animals kept in our local Animal Control Center in Canadian, TX :) Hopefully we can find forever homes for these animals in need :) We appreciate y
our help and support! Below are a few guidelines to go by in order to keep this page running smooth.
•When posting a LOST or FOUND notice, please include:
- A picture is best, and even if you do post one, it’s always best to provide extra info
- Breed/coloring
- Rough age (energetic puppy, older, etc)
- Does it have tags/collar
- When he/she went missing or was found
- Where he/she is missing from or was found, just the approx. area
- If posting a LOST notice, any reward offered
• You can post as much as you want, but please be considerate of others when you are posting. Remember that when you post multiple items, someone else’s post gets bumped to the bottom. Try to be considerate and understand that everyone’s posts are important.
• We understand if you post from cell phones, but if you are on a computer, please try to make albums when posting several pictures of the same animal. It can be upsetting to have to scroll through 20 pictures of the same animal.
• If you post something please remember to come and check it for responses. We will try to tag your name if we see no response to questions being asked on your post.
• If you find your pet, but are unable to delete the post, please put “FOUND” on it so we know not to worry. We don't mind deleting it for you.
• IF you aren’t from Canadian, please put the city you are posting from, whether you’ve lost or found an animal. Please have a plan as to how you will have the animal dropped off OR post that it has to be picked up from wherever you are located.
• When you are communicating with another member about a pick-up/drop-off, please "Private Message" the person your phone number or address.
