The babies are doing well in quarantine and are learning important things like the magic of cuddles and the joy of goat beds! There is just one thing they are missing… names! Monthly supporters of the refuge is why we know when we can take animals, so that’s why we think you should get to name them! If you are already a monthly donor, be sure to send over your name choices! If you aren’t yet a monthly donor, you can sign up for as little as $5 a month at Farmanimalrefuge.org or link: https://form-renderer-app.donorperfect.io/give/farm-animal-refuge/current-campaign

If you’ve been following, you know that recently we held a fundraiser for all the senior animals in our care! And that’s because here, the residents get everything they need from day 1 until there very last days ♥️ For these babies their entire lives are in front of them! And monthly donors help to create that safe place for them day after day due to consistent support ♥️

You can help them start their new chapters along with us today! Sign up to be a monthly donor and help us name them next week! Link in bio ♥️

A Gracie Health Update and HUGE THANK YOU to our friends at . *Swipe to see Gracie unboxing some treats*
⁣⁣
Gracie had a recent procedure to remove what looked like nothing more than a tiny bump on her eyelid. It was just about the size of a pimple! It was a good thing it removed because a biopsy revealed it was squamous cell carcinoma! This type of skin cancer that’s actually one of the most common cancers in cows, especially in adult cow friends.⁣⁣⁣

We’re so incredibly grateful we caught it early. The surgery went well, and the report confirmed that Dr. Rosen got clear margins which is a huge relief!⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Ocular squamous cell carcinoma is relatively common in cows once they’re over about 8 years old. The unfortunatereality is, most cows in the industry never even get the chance to grow to Gracie’s age, and she’s got many more to come! So while hearing “cancer” is always scary, it’s also a privilege to care for her through the kinds of things that come with age. And thankfully, with the wide margins that were taken, the chances of recurrence are much lower.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣
We want to send a HUGE Gracie size thank you to the for sponsoring this treatment for Gracie. We love the work they do helping pets all over the country get the cancer treatment they need! They are also unique from many other pet foundations in that they value and help save all species ❤️. Giving animals like Gracie the many more years at sanctuary the deserve! Thank you! ⁣⁣

Join us for our pig-nic event on Saturday 6/20 ♥️🩷

Link in bio to get tickets 🎟️

We are located in campo, CA which is about an hour east of downtown San Diego! Tickets include a plant based picnic box and drink!

We are a sanctuary and not a petting zoom so every animal resident has volunteer ambassadors to tell you their stories and to make sure they are comfortable! Every area also has “human free” zones for the animals to take a break when they need to!

We hope to see you all soon! Let us know if you have any questions! 💖🐽

Thank you to everyone who donated to our senior fundraiser! We reached our goal! Your support means so much not just financially, but it really reminds us we have a community behind the animals for their entire lives!

Thank you for believing in the beauty of sanctuary and supporting the animals long lives, not only the urgency or crisis involved in rescue work!

Way more special and exciting than taking new rescue is the beauty to committing to animals for the entirety of their lives!  This is just one of the reasons why we are so proud of the senior care here and proud to have a community like you that’s supports them!

Brian and Liam were the newest gentleman of the goat herd to join the arthritis medicine plan! These boys have been the life of the goat party since they joined us as little kids! So when they missed a few pasture walks, we knew it was time to add them to the exam list!

Brian and Liam’s pre med exam and diagnostics cost just over $600! And with more goats entering their golden years, our senior costs are growing. If you are able, please consider a donation (even $5 makes such a difference!) to our senior retirement fund!

Brian and Liam have been with us since they were just babies, and now they’re the newest members of the herd to begin arthritis medication.

In the ag industry, animals are often bred to grow very big, very fast. So unfortunately, a common long-term medical issue we see at sanctuary is arthritis.

Brian and Liam are still two of the most active, playful, and silly goats here, so when they started skipping a few pasture walks this spring, we knew it was time for exams and diagnostics.

This year, Brian and Liam’s pre-med exams, blood tests, and diagnostics were about $600!!

As more of the goats enter their golden years, senior care costs just keep going up around here! That’s why this fundraiser is so important to us! if you are able, please consider donating to our Seniors 401(k) Fund. Even $5 makes a difference. ❤️
