Good afternoon, everyone. I know that some of you have been wondering if the Campbellton Community Hall was every going to open again for public rental. The answer if YES. The Paisano Volunteer Fire Department is still in the process of trying to catch up on repairs and improvements that should have been done, but were never accomplished, Again, we ask everyone to please continue to be patient with us. I am posting a link to a copy of the new Campbellton Community Hall Rental Agreement, if anyone is interested in renting the facility. Please take the time to read the contact carefully, and make sure they understand the contract. If you have any questions, please reach out to us by phone, or you can use the chat option on our web page.

We would also like the public to know that we DO NOT CHARGE families for family funeral gatherings AND we DO NOT CHARGE the Catholic Church for ANY functions that it would like to hold in the hall. We want to make that statement perfectly clear!! NO CHURCH SPONSORED FUNCTIONS OR FAMILY FUNERAL GATHERINGS WILL EVER BE CHARGED A FEE!!

Again, if anyone has any questions, please let us know. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Respectfully submitted,

Chris Llamas

NATIONAL FALLEN FIREFIGHTERS MEMORIAL WEEKEND, 2026
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

This National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, our Nation honors the brave volunteer and career firefighters who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty — with special reverence for those we have lost over the past year — whose courage and devotion to their communities will never be forgotten. We carry their memories forward in gratitude along with the enduring promise of a Nation forever changed by their sacrifice.

Every day across our great country, firefighters answer the call when it matters most, rushing into danger to protect lives, homes, and communities. Through fires, disasters, and emergencies, they demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of their fellow Americans. Their bravery and dedication make our Nation stronger, and we are safer because of them.

This weekend, we hold the families, friends, and loved ones of our fallen fire heroes — many of whom are gathered on the beautiful campus of the National Fire Academy at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park in Emmitsburg, Maryland — to grieve together, share cherished memories, and find strength in the enduring legacies of those they have lost. Their grief is truly immeasurable, and we reaffirm our solemn mission to ensure that the names and memories of their loved ones remain forever enshrined in the hearts of our citizens.

As we reflect on the lives of our Nation’s fallen firefighters, we are reminded that gratitude must be matched by action. It remains our country’s solemn obligation to provide the heroes of emergency response with the training, equipment, and resources they need to do their jobs well and return home safely to the peace and comfort of those who love them. My Administration remains steadfast in our commitment to unequivocally supporting those who protect us every day. Under my leadership, we will never waver in that incredible responsibility.

This weekend, we remember these heroes with solemn reverence and grateful hearts, unite ourselves with those who grieve their passing, and pledge that we will always carry forward the remarkable spirit of service that America’s fallen firefighters championed until their last breath.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 2 through May 3, 2026, as National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend. On Sunday, May 3, 2026, in accordance with Public Law 107-51, the flag of the United States will be flown at half-staff at all Federal office buildings in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirtieth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-six, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fiftieth.

DONALD J. TRUMP

It's been just over a month since my old chief passed away...better known as my dad. A few days ago, I responded to my first fire call since his passing, and it wasn't quite the same. He wasn't there to ask me about the nature of the call or where it was located. He wasn't there for me to discuss the call with when it was over. It was...different. But, there was something that was also different...it was the first call under my NEW unit number. It was decided, as a department, that we would honor our retired chief by retiring his unit number. The unit number 401 had served as his chief's number for over 43 years! But, now it was time for that final call. Enjoy your heavenly retirement dad, and know the NEW UNIT # COMMAND 405 will continue to carry on your legacy. God bless. ✝️🙏✝️

Good afternoon, everyone. I wanted to take this time to thank EVERYONE who participated in my dad's procession and funeral services. It was amazing to see how many people honored the chief on his last call. I can not say thank you enough!

As an honor to him, our department has decided to retire his unit number. I will be changing unit numbers to COMMAND 405, effective immediately. Please be patient with me as I adjust to the new number, and thank you all again for your support. - Chief Chris Llamas

THE LATEST BRIDGE UPDATE FROM TXDOT:

I wanted to provide an update for this construction. As of this afternoon (February 12, 2026), our contractor has completed this phase of construction 19 days early and UA 281 at the Atascosa River (from FM 791 W to FM 791 E) is no longer closed.

We are still utilizing two-way, one-lane traffic control with temporary signals while we start work on the second half of this bridge. However, traffic can cross, utilizing the signals, without having to take the detour we had in place.
