For the last 4 years, Project 410’s Founder & Executive Director Daniel Cook has been heading up a community warming center with the help of Upper Room Ministries, and numerous other agencies and non-profits.
The warming center is operated through the guidance and leadership of Project 410, in the facility of Upper Room Ministries.
It is open to anyone seeking refuge from the cold and dangerous conditions, anytime it is below 20 degrees or below for 48 hours or more.
On average we see around 12-15 guest per night, however we’ve sheltered as many as 25 people.
We rely on volunteers to serve as monitors, shift leaders and cleaners. We are blessed by numerous donors and supporters who help supply food, snacks, toboggans, Hot-Hands, coats and hygiene items. Guests are welcomed in, invited to eat, shower if desired and most importantly rest.
Currently, due to weather conditions, we have been asked by Emergency Management and City/County Officials to operate around the clock. We are attempting to do the best we can at that very task!
