Working on the Paris Olympic outreach. We wrote and designed 2 new tracts today!
Tract text:
What if you did win at everything in life? What if you were strong, wealthy, beautiful, and smart? What would those things mean at the end of life?
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Mark:8:36
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Hebrews:9:27
The truth is that as hard as you may try, you have not been able to master this physical world. On the outside, people may see you as strong and successful, but on the inside, you know that you are weak, broken, and lonely.
The search for meaning in life only leads us to a dead end if we do not account for eternity. Relationships, parties, s*x, and success can never satisfy you.
Jesus said, ..."I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John:10:10b
Who is this Jesus? And what life is he talking about?
Jesus is the one true God who came to Earth in the form of a man.
The Bible tells us the story of how God made man and woman to know God and to walk with him. But man chose to sin against God and was separated from God by his sin.
Just like Adam and Eve, you have also sinned against God. There's no denying it. The things that you know in your heart are wrong are some of the things that you love the most. You have willfully sinned against a holy and just God!
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans:3:23
God has every right and responsibility to judge our sin. If you were to stand before God now, he would be just in sending you to the Lake of Fire. What would Heaven be like if God allowed sinners into that place? Since there is no death in heaven, those sinners would only get worse, and their sin would defile everything for eternity. God must judge sin, or he is not good!
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Revelation:21:8
"I am come that they may have life"
This life promised by Jesus is eternal life! It is a free gift to sinners like us.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans:6:23
2000 years ago, Jesus Christ, the son of God, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life without sin, and died on a cruel Roman cross. His death on that cross was not for his sin it was for yours. He paid the penalty for your sin!
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians:5:21
He didn't pay the debt for the Romans who crucified him or to the Jews who hated him, he paid the debt of sin for All Mankind with his own blood.
How could the blood of one man pay the sin debt of every man? It is simple, the blood of Jesus Christ poured out on that cross was worth more than all of the blood of every man. That was Holy blood, righteous blood, perfect blood, which he shed for us... Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Revelation:1:5b
Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has provided a way that He could be just in his punishment of sin, and yet merciful to the sinners. He paid the debt himself.
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Colossians:2:14
How do you receive this gift?
No matter what you have heard from a priest, pastor, parent, or Imam, the word of God is very clear! if you were to try to pay your sin debt yourself by your religious service or righteous works, you will fail!
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Titus:3:5
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John:3:16-18
There is no question about it, the Bible teaches that God forgives man's sins by grace alone. It is the gift of God to those who will receive it by faith.
.."Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved"
Acts:16:3b
Today, consider your soul. Do you know that your sin will condemn you? Have you tried to hide from a holy God?
Will you right now confess your sin to God, believe that his work on the cross is the payment for your sin, and trust him completely?
According to the scripture, if you place your trust in him and not in your works, or your religion, you can have complete assurance that your soul is safe in Jesus.
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
1 John:5:13
