We have some great news to share about our sweet Golden girl Story! She’s shown so much progress with her anxiety and reactivity since starting her medication, Reconcile, a few months ago. We are not against medication but for us, it is never our first choice. 😏
Herbal support, training, a healthy diet, a safe environment, calm energy, a peaceful home, CBD and other calming supplements can work wonders, allowing dogs to avoid medications but sometimes, you can do all of that and still not see them settle in so, we were open to seeing if medication could help her. ❤️🩹
Watching her slowly come out of her shell has been one of the most rewarding parts of her journey, and we’re finally beginning to see the happy, confident dog we always knew was hiding underneath all of that fear! 🥹
Recently her trainer and foster told us she could cry thinking about how much Story has changed. She said the difference between the dog who first arrived and the dog she sees today is incredible. There used to be so much hesitation when it came to touch and affection and now she’s throwing herself into her foster’s arms asking for pets and cuddles. 😭
Earning Story’s trust is a slow, gentle process after all the trauma she’s been through in the past. For a dog who has lived with so much fear and anxiety, these are enormous milestones. 🙏🏼
We’re so incredibly proud of how far Story has come, and we’re hopeful that this is only the beginning. We still are on the hunt for the perfect home for her but sadly, most people see her as damaged and unwanted. She deserves love, patience and a chance… 🫶🏼
