Did you know that PA ABLE accounts will transition to a new program manager? Beginning in July 2026, Vestwell will be the new manager, bringing lower fees, industry-leading technology, and new features.

As part of this transition, the PA ABLE Checking Account Option from Fifth Third Bank will move to a new easier-to-use reloadable prepaid card. After June 30, 2026, you will not be able to write checks or use the debit card from Fifth Third Bank. During the week of July 20, 2026, all accounts will transition to the new platform. There will be a blackout period of a few days during this time and account access will be unavailable.

Stay informed and be prepared! Click here to learn more about this transition: https://www.paable.gov/updates/

What does it really mean to be independent? Join this session as Margot, a disabled self-advocate, shares her powerful personal story and reflects on what she wishes adults supporting her had known earlier. Through Margot’s lived experience, youth and their supports will explore how independence doesn’t always mean doing everything alone, and how having the right supports, people, and resources can actually make someone more independent. The session will also gently explore how things like ableism and past experiences can shape the way we think about independence—and how we can begin to reimagine it. You will leave with new ideas, real-world examples, and encouragement to build a version of independence that works for you—because you deserve more support and opportunity than “figuring it out on your own.”
