Summers at Southern Camps

Summers at Southern camps are held and hosted by Southern Preparatory Academy in Camp Hill, Alabama.

Our camps offer both boarding & day options and are designed for male & female students in rising 8th-12th grades. Beyond the fun and excitement of summer camp, the immersive experience can provide a unique opportunity for young individuals to learn essential life skills and foster meaningful connections. Camps encourage self-reliance and independence as campers often find themselves away from the

familiar comforts of home. They learn to make decisions, solve problems, and adapt to new environments, helping them build resilience and confidence that will serve them well throughout their lives. Plus, the diverse range of activities offered at camp allows campers to discover passions and talents, fostering a sense of self-identity and purpose. Furthermore, summer camps offer a break from the routine of school and technology-driven daily life. This respite from screens and the digital world allows kids to reconnect with nature, sparking an appreciation for the outdoors and environmental stewardship. The social aspect of summer camps is equally important, as campers from diverse backgrounds come together, fostering tolerance, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with peers.
