Altrusa of South Central PA having fun celebrating Valentine’s Day at Trinity pre-school supplying Breakfast to 3-4 year old kids, and reading to them! We all had a blast! We also surprised them with a beautiful hat!

Special education students from Greenwood and Newport school districts on Tuesday went to Millerstown Community Park to read out loud to gnomes who live in homes at the park created by Steve Hoke of Newport.

We enjoyed Our “Hands On” Summer Projects on August 4, which included making no-sew lap or regular blankets and creating “sight words” for the children at Sylvan Heights Charter Science School. Meeting site was at Our Saviour Lutheran Church on Progress Ave. We had a good turnout of Altrusans – and 2 “Altrousers” (Al and Dan) and our youngest volunteer, Karina who all pitched in to work on these two projects. In just a few hours we hand-tied 15 lap blankets which will go to a homeless shelter, and made numerous alphabet booklets on a ring for the Kindergarten children at Sylvan Heights school. We also folded and stapled booklets for the children. We all went home with a feeling of accomplishment.
