Opened in 1973 by the Alabama Sheriffs’ Association, the Tallapoosa County Girls Ranch is located on property donated by Mr. Currently, the campus consists of 3 ranch homes, 3 staff houses, an office, chapel, gym, pool, pond, and various support buildings. The ranchers attend Reeltown School, where they are involved in various extra-curricular activities. They are very active in youth programs and attend local churches. Ranch highlights include: annual beach trip, day at the water park, spa day, various camp experiences, Atlanta Braves game, Columbus Cottonmouths hockey game, fashion show, nursing home ministry, church food ministry, and visit to Children’s Hospital. Christmas parties for our young ladies, in addition to spring and fall fundraising events. The Girls Ranch works in a family-based setting.

Come hear about what has been happening at the Ranch and see firsthand the difference your support is making in the lives of our young ladies.

We are incredibly grateful for every prayer partner, volunteer, donor, and friend of the Ranch. Your prayers, volunteer hours, generosity, and encouragement help at-risk young ladies do more than simply survive—they are helping them heal, grow, and thrive.

We rely on each of you to help us accomplish the mission we have been entrusted with, and we would love for you to come see what your support is making possible.

A huge thank you to Commissioner George Carlton Jr. for helping with some much-needed repairs to the roads here at the Ranch!

These improvements make a big difference for our girls, staff, visitors, and everyone who comes onto our property. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by so many people in our community who see a need and are willing to step in and help.

We are so grateful to the Punishers LEMC Big Swamp for their incredible generosity! Their annual Saddle Up for the Ranches was a great success, raising over $9,000 for the Ranch!

We are so proud of one of our girls for being named MVP at her JV volleyball tournament this past weekend! 🏐🏅

She has worked incredibly hard on the court, in the weight room, and most importantly, on herself. Watching her grow in strength, confidence, and character has been even better than watching her succeed on the court.

Our fence is mostly painted, and we are so thankful for everyone who helped make it happen!

A huge thank you to my staff—Mike, Darin, David, and Matthew—for putting in extra time in the heat pressure washing and getting the fence ready to paint. We also want to thank CLASH Pressure Washing for donating their time and helping us get the fence prepped. Their help made a big difference!

Then the Auburn University Honors College Week of Service Team came in and went to work painting. We always love the Week of Service. It is so important for young people to learn the value of serving—not only because of the difference they make for organizations like ours, but because they can take that heart for service back into their own communities.

It was a very productive morning, a lot of fence got painted, and some great memories were made along the way. We appreciate every student and everyone else who helped make it happen!

We would like to welcome the Weltons as the newest members of our Ranch family!

Mike and Tiffany, along with their four children, come to us ready to serve and become part of this special family. Mike and Tiffany bring years of experience caring for young people and a heart to love, mentor, and help our young ladies heal, grow, and become the young women God created them to be.

We look forward to sharing plenty of laughter, some tears, and even a few frustrations along the way as their whole family becomes part of life here at the Ranch.

We pray God blesses the entire Welton family with wisdom, strength, patience, and the peace that can only come from Him.

We’re Mike and Tiffany Welton, and this is the Welton Family.

Originally from Pennsylvania, we’ve been married for 18 years, and God has taken us on a journey we never could have imagined.

For five years, we had the privilege of serving as counselor parents, walking alongside kids who needed love, guidance, and someone willing to believe in them. God then led us to the St. Clair Boys Ranch, where we served for a little over a year, continuing to invest in young lives and be a family to kids who needed one.

Now, God has opened another chapter in our story here at Tallapoosa Girls Ranch. We’re excited and humbled to see what He has in store for this next season and the lives He allows us to impact along the way.

Our four kids—Leland, Colton, Aubrey, and Ella—have been part of every crazy, beautiful chapter of this journey and are at the heart of everything we do.

From Pennsylvania, to the St. Clair Boys Ranch, and now to Tallapoosa Girls Ranch, we’ve learned that home isn’t always a place. Home is wherever God calls us and wherever our family is together.

18 years of marriage, four amazing kids, a whole lot of faith, and more crazy memories than we can count. We’re excited to see what God writes in the next chapter of the Welton Family story.

Back to school! 📚✏️

We are excited to see our girls starting a new school year and ready for all that God has in store for them. We are praying for a year filled with growth, good friendships, hard work, and lots of great memories.
