Elmer Ellis Post 33 of the American Legion and Pemberton-Reynolds-Voris Post 7158 of the VFW were thrilled to host our annual Independence Day Veterans Tribute!
Mr. Sam Hiner and Mr. Richie King were the two hometown veterans who were selected to receive flags this year! Thank you, Mr. Hiner, for your service to our country, your family, and through your years of dedication to Farmers State Bank’s Board of Directors, the people in this community! Mr. King, your devotion to Veteran su***de prevention through Comedy Vets has saved lives! Thank you for your daily gifts to your family and friends! We’re so proud of you both!
200 community members were present, and many of them were veterans. Each of them were presented with this year’s collectible hat pin, sponsored by Dan and Staci Earley in memory of Dan’s father, Bob.
The Legion and VFW would like to thank the First Baptist Church for the lovely air conditioned venue, as well as all of the seating and sound system! Thanks to the Baptist Church Men’s Quartet, Andy Henry, and the Cameron Municipal Band for the patriotic and heartfelt selections! Thank you to Zion Prep Academy JROTC, Boy Scout Troop 87, Cub Scout Pack 249 and members of VFW Post 4428 and American Legion Post 393 for their assistance with color guard and flag presentations! Special thanks to the Honorable Becky Curtis for her devotion to our community’s veterans and her warm welcome.
Cameron and community veterans, this service was to honor YOU! Thanks for making our freedom, and our Fourth of July, possible!
