To every participant who walked, jogged, or raced across the finish line—thank you for making this event such a success. Your dedication to health, fitness, and community spirit is what makes Haley's Comet Run so special.

To our spectators, thank you for lining the course, cheering on runners, and creating an atmosphere of encouragement and excitement. Your support helped carry many participants to the finish line.

And to our amazing volunteers, we simply could not do this without you. From registration and packet pickup to course marshaling, water stations, timing, setup, cleanup, and everything in between, your generosity and hard work made the day possible.

We are also grateful to our sponsors, photographers, public safety personnel, and everyone who played a role in making this year's event a memorable one.

WWII Vet: "Tell them about veterans and say to them that we gave up our yesterdays for your tomorrows," Yoho, who turns 98 in August, said Saturday through rain at the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C..

"And if they say to you then, who did you hear speak these words?" he continued in off-the-cuff remarks, holding up a military salute while he held back tears as his nearly 100-year-old voice was cracking through the rain.

"Tell them it was a 16-year-old boy in the heart and mind and body of a 98-year-old veteran of World War II."
