CHOICE Humanitarian Navajo Nation

CHOICE Humanitarian Navajo Nation We envision a world in which people everywhere have the choice and the means to live in peace, prosperity, and freedom.

One year ago CHOICE Humanitarian came to the incredibily difficult decision to cease operations on the Navajo Nation due to extreme financial difficulties. We hope that the seeds that we planted with training, hoop houses, computers and future plans will grow and flourish to improve the lives of the Navajo people.

Yesterday was an amazing adventure and day of learning. I'm thankful to our Navajo Women ASCEND participants and family members who drove all the way to Snowflake to learn more, to gather farming tips, knowledge, and expertise. I think they came away with so much. A BIG ahxe'hee to Kim and Joe for their amazing expertise and kind heart as they shared their knowledge, home, and delicious food! Ahxe'hee to Lori, and everyone for a fun filled day!❤️❤️🙏😊

Meet Moral Riggs!👨🏾‍🌾 He’s a recipient of one of our 16’x24’ hoop houses through our food security project. He is a retired electrician who enjoys constructing, planting, raising livestock and helping others in and around his community of Tonalea. Ahe’hee Moral! Thank you for your efforts in food security! You’re doing great! 🤩

Ya'at'teeh, boy what a season of surprises and good fortune. Our Hoop House project has been quite a learning experience. It was successful in many ways but we still have more learning and successes to go! All our participants did the best they could on the hoop houses CHOICE built with the expertise of Tyrone Thompson, Ch'ishi Farms. Towards July, August, September and even October we were blessed with rain! So many farmers could see the difference in their planting and how their crops matured. Nizhoniye' I'll share some hoop house pictures. Thank you to CHOICE Humanitarian, for their belief and support in the Navajo farmer and the faith of the farming participants!
