Our county has been placed under a dense fog advisory for early Wednesday morning with visibility of 1/2 of a mile or less. There is a good chance that this will create freezing fog so please keep that in mind as you begin to make travel plans tomorrow. Also anything that is left on the roads tonight will refreeze as the temps once again fall into the upper teens to lower twenties tonight. Black ice will be a major concern as the sleet and snow has started melting and then add freezing fog on top of that.

Just some reminders.

Use low beam lights

Leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Slow down, leave in plenty of time you make your destination

Use caution while driving.

01/27/2026

State highways are better there are still some ice spots and lots of black ice so still need to drive with caution if you need to get out. Side roads, Old Hwy 112 and 83 Hwy are still ice and snow packed and very slick. If you travel those roads please use extreme caution.

Temps are expected to rise above freezing today and it should melt with that being said this ice and snow packed roads will turn to slush that doesn't mean that you should drive it like you stole it. Please leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Road crews will be out once again working on trying to make the roads more travel friendly so please stay back at least 200 ft from the road crews and their equipment.

Be safe and stay warm.

01/26/2026

Roads are still ice packed and slick road crews are all out working and doing the best that they can with temps still well below the freezing mark.

Please unless travel is a must stay home. This will allow road crews to do their jobs plus allow them to focus on the task at hand without having to worry about what you are doing. If you must get out and travel leave in plenty of time to get to your destination also if you are behind a road crew please allow at least 200 feet between you and the road crew.

Be sure and load your vehicle with blankets, snacks and bottled water so in the event you get stranded you have items necessary until emergency personnel can get to you to offer aid.

Be sure to continue to drip your faucets so that your pipes don't freeze. This only means a slow annoying drip not a full k**b turn on. Thank you be safe and stay warm.

Road update Jan 24,2026 @ 8:10AM.
If you don’t have to be out stay at home. Roads are slick and ice packed. ODOT is working on the roads but they can only do so much as long as the precipitation continues to fall.

Temperatures are continuing to fall and will as the day moves forward. Be sure to drip your faucets so your pipes don’t freeze.

If you have to travel be sure that you have blankets, coats, bottles of water , snacks. Be aware of your surroundings as you travel in the event there is an emergency so you can direct emergency services to your location.

Please stay home if you can. This allows road crews to pay attention to what they are doing and not have to worry about you and what you are doing. Please stay back at least 200 feet from road plows and road machinery so they can focus on their task at hand.

Stay warm and safe.

Please do not burn!!!!
We have put out 3 controlled burns this evening

🔥🔥The conditions are extremely high for a major fire outside. Dry with extreme winds can make a simple situation turn into major losses. So please do not use any outside burning until we get some rain. No we are not under a burn ban, just asking people not to burn.🔥🔥
